Description
Rhodiola Extract
The roseroot that has withstood the Siberian cold for 2000 years, now in a capsule.
• Standardised to 3% rosavins and 1% salidroside • Studied in clinical trials • Adaptogenic action
What makes Rhodiola so special?
On the bare slopes of the Altai Mountains and along the coldest edges of Siberia grows a plant that gets little help: no shelter, little water, extreme temperature swings. Rhodiola rosea has survived there for centuries, and that is precisely what made the herb interesting to peoples looking for something that could withstand cold, altitude and fatigue*. For at least 2000 years, the root has been used for that reason.
Our Rhodiola Rosea is processed in the Netherlands according to the strict FSSC 22000 standard, an international food safety standard. We guarantee consistently high quality through rigorous testing and analysis, carried out by an independent laboratory.
In short
- 400 mg Rhodiola rosea extract per capsule
- Standardised to 3% rosavins (12 mg) and 1% salidroside (4 mg)
- Produced in the Netherlands (FSSC 22000), tested by an independent laboratory
- Vegetarian, free from unwanted additives
What an adaptogen does
Rhodiola rosea is classed among the adaptogens*: plants that have traditionally been associated with the body’s ability to adapt to physical and mental strain. Rhodiola Rosea has a regulating effect on cortisol levels, the stress hormone produced by the adrenal glands. This occurs via the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, an important regulatory system in the body that governs the stress response.
Rhodiola Rosea also plays a role in the balance between the sympathetic nervous system, which switches into action mode during exertion and threat, and the parasympathetic nervous system, which is active during rest and recovery. A period of stress is often followed by fatigue. Rhodiola rosea contributes, among other things, to ATP production in the mitochondria, the energy factories of our cells, and is associated with cognitive functions such as concentration and memory.
A dosage in line with research
In published human research on Rhodiola rosea extract, standardised to comparable levels of rosavins and salidroside, dosages of approximately 200 to 600 mg of extract per day have been used (Cropley et al., 2015; Kasper and Dienel 2017; Marcos-Frutos et al., 2025). Our daily dose of 400 mg with 3% rosavins and 1% salidroside (1 capsule) falls within that studied range.
