Description

The functioning of Liposomal Ester-C® capsules from Kala Health

The liposomal vitamin C Ester-C® capsules from Kala Health are of high quality. The liposomal vitamin C formula is based on the patented form of pH-neutral vitamin C (Calcium ascorbate) with natural metabolites. Additionally, the Ester-C® in the liposomal vitamin C formula is transformed into true dry liposomes using the unique Lipo-Real® technology. The stable, dry liposomal powder easily forms real liposomes in the digestive system, resulting in superior absorption and superior biological activity. Therefore, for improved absorption, use the liposomal vitamin C Ester-C® capsules for the intake of vitamin C (calcium ascorbate) with natural metabolites.

The liposomal vitamin C Ester-C® capsules, as calcium ascorbate with metabolites, are a form of vitamin C in which ascorbic acid is bound to calcium. By adding calcium to vitamin C, calcium ascorbate serves as a source for both vitamin C and calcium. The liposomal vitamin C Ester-C® capsules, as calcium ascorbate with metabolites (vitamin C), are less acidic upon ingestion and have a longer shelf life.

Tip: To test if a dry powder is truly liposomal, stir some powder in a glass of water. Genuine dry liposomes quickly form a genuine liposomal solution.

Dosage

Kala Health recommends adults to take 1 liposomal vitamin C Ester-C® capsule per day between meals or as recommended otherwise. Adhere to the recommended dosage. 1 liposomal vitamin C Ester-C® capsule contains 600 mg calcium ascorbate and metabolites, 350 mg elemental ascorbic acid (vitamin C), which is equivalent to 437% of the Daily Adequate Intake (DAI), and 43 mg calcium (as ascorbate).

Experiences

Kala Health wants to emphasize that its liposomal vitamin C Ester-C® formula, consisting of vitamin C (calcium ascorbate) with natural metabolites, is of high quality. We are also happy to provide you with further information about the background of our liposomal vitamin C Ester-C® dietary supplement over the phone.

The European Commission currently authorizes 15 health claims that we may publish for vitamin C and 10 health claims that we may publish for calcium.

These are the 15 authorised health claims for vitamin C:

  • Vitamin C contributes to the maintenance of normal immune system function during and after intense physical exercise;
  • Vitamin C contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal function of blood vessels;
  • Vitamin C contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal function of bones;
  • Vitamin C contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal function of cartilage;
  • Vitamin C contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal function of gums;
  • Vitamin C contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal function of the skin;
  • Vitamin C contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal function of teeth;
  • Vitamin C contributes to a normal energy-yielding metabolism;
  • Vitamin C contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system;
  • Vitamin C contributes to a normal psychological function;
  • Vitamin C contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system;
  • Vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress;
  • Vitamin C contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue;
  • Vitamin C contributes to the regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E;
  • Vitamin C increases iron absorption.

These are the 10 authorised health claims for calcium:

  • Calcium contributes to normal blood clotting;
  • Calcium contributes to a normal energy-yielding metabolism;
  • Calcium contributes to normal muscle function;
  • Calcium contributes to normal neurotransmission;
  • Calcium contributes to the normal function of digestive enzymes;
  • Calcium plays a role in the process of cell division and specialization;
  • Calcium is necessary for the maintenance of normal bones;
  • Calcium is necessary for the maintenance of normal teeth;
  • Calcium helps reduce the loss of bone minerals in postmenopausal women. Low bone mineral density is a risk factor for osteoporotic fractures;
  • Calcium is necessary for the normal growth and development of bones in children.

The above health claims have been approved by the European Commission and may be used for liposomal vitamin C Ester-C® dietary supplements that contain sufficient ascorbic acid and calcium to achieve the indicated effect.

Side Effects

The liposomal vitamin C Ester-C® dietary supplement is a safe (water-soluble) vitamin, even at high dosages. However, consumers may experience gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, flatulence, abdominal cramps, or diarrhea when taking excessively high doses. Experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms is a sign of bowel tolerance, indicating that the maximum effective dose of vitamin C has been reached. Liposomal vitamin C is better tolerated and absorbed by consumers compared to pure ascorbic acid. Consumers are advised to take the liposomal vitamin C Ester-C® capsules with vitamin C (calcium ascorbate) and natural metabolites for improved absorption.

Safety

Store the liposomal vitamin C Ester-C® dietary supplement in a cool, dark, and dry place, out of reach of children. The liposomal vitamin C supplement contains vitamins and minerals, but it is not a substitute for a varied diet. The dietary supplement is suitable for vegans and free from yeast, lactose, gluten, preservatives, synthetic fragrances, colors, and flavors.

Background information

WHY VITAMIN C?

Scientists suspect that tens of millions of years ago, a spontaneous mutation occurred in our distant ancestors’ genetic material. It caused them to lose the ability to produce their own vitamin C. Ever since, humans have been completely dependent on their diet for their vitamin C supply. Interesting is the theory that this development caused human evolution to proceed at a rapid pace. Vitamin C is an important antioxidant, and its loss must have led to a sharp increase in the amount of free radicals, which in turn triggered large numbers of DNA mutations. Many primate species sprang up in quick succession, one of which developed into the ancestor of modern man.

HOW MUCH VITAMIN C?

In the Netherlands, the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of vitamin C is 80 mg for adults. Most experts agree, however, that the Maximum Safe Dose is much higher.

The Optimal Amount of vitamin C, required to fully meet the body’s vitamin C needs, is difficult to estimate. One fascinating discovery is that almost all animal species are capable of producing their own vitamin C. Exceptions include all apes (including humans), guinea pigs, rainbow trout, and coho salmon.
